TEHRAN – Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei issued a decree on Thursday granting amnesty to some prisoners and commuting the sentences of a number of others. 

 

Earlier, Judiciary Chief Ayatollah Sadeq Larijani had written a letter to the Supreme Leader in which he made a proposal to grant clemency to 1002 convicts on the occasion of the Islamic Republic Day.
